Yes! I couldn't take it seriously since it seemed that the BTKs were already criminals, so it seemed natural for them to gravitate towards violent comics. And given what we know about modern research around the influence of media on social behaviors, such effects are likely not causal, to begin with. And its weird how Garland complains about such comics when we have way more graphic pieces of work made in modern times and in cult horror/ torture/ mondo movies -- yet he only focuses on Shuster's comic and nothing else at the time. There was other work that was graphic at the time. yet we hear nothing about it except comics and a case related to a comic, as if somehow its supposed to be bigger than life
